About

The Freemasons of Metuchen (Mt. Zion Lodge #135), and Wolfe Ossa Law,
in conjunction with What's the Scoop, are sponsoring a Children's treasure hunt
following the style of "National Treasure", "Indiana Jones", and "Tomb Raider".

This is a chaperoned Treasure Hunt that will challenge children to solve puzzles leading from one location in Metuchen to another. Each clue will bring the children progressively closer to the final treasure!

The Treasure Hunt will start at the Mt. Zion Lodge on Saturday, June 15th, 2019 9:30 am sharp.
** You MUST pre-register ** (we will fill up, do it now)
Address: 483 Middlesex Ave. Metuchen, NJ 08840

When:

Saturday June 15, 2019 starting at 9:30 AM.
Completion time depends on the participants.

There will be a rain-date as needed.

The Treasure Hunt will start at the Mt. Zion Lodge at 9:30 am sharp.
Address: 483 Middlesex Ave. Metuchen, NJ 08840

Who:

This is for adventurous boys and girls from K to 6th grade. Children will need a chaperone the day of the event; this is NOT a "drop off" activity, as they will be walking around Metuchen.

Dress comfortably and plan to have breaks.

Rules

Registration is first-come, first-serve and a registration fee is required and must be paid for at external link prior to registering on this website. We would like to include all children who wish to participate, however registration is limited, and preference will be given to those who sign up first and pay the registration fee.
  1. Each participant must have a chaperone or an approved exception. One chaperone can chaperone more than one child.
  2. Bring a sandwich or money for lunch. Your team might need a break. Bringing paper and pencil is also not a bad idea.
  3. We can not predict how long it will take to complete, nor can we reveal the total number of clues before the final treasure. It can take anywhere from one hour to perhaps not completing the Treasure Hunt at all.
  4. All players should be able to read.
  5. When you sign up, we will make best effort to place you on the same team of friends you indicate in your sign up form (below). Approx 10 to a team.
  6. There will be a map issued the day of the event. All clues will be within the few blocks that make up Metuchen town.
  7. The more you know Metuchen, the better the chances of completion. You can further prepare by reading and watching movies about Treasure Hunts. such as:
               National Treasure I & II
               The Da Vinci Code
               Angels & Demons
               The Indiana Jones Movies
               The Librarian
Also, consider reading books like The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown

Parents / Chaperones are NOT ALLOWED to help. This will be considered cheating.
